Hello Friends,

    It’s a new year and Maelstrom has a brand new CD out. It's entitled "Bank Shots" and is a collection of new and recent original compositions by group members, Bob Accurso and Ted Reinhardt. "Bank Shots" is the ensemble's first recording with Ted (former Spyro Gyra drummer), Kristen Shiner McGuire (Nazareth College), and Tiffany Nicely (SUNY Fredonia). The music is the ensemble's own blend of  "percussion fusion", progressive enough for the musically adventurous listener, and with a solid emphasis on rhythm and grooves that keep the energy flowing from beginning to end. 

    Maelstrom had the pleasure of performing much of the music from "Bank Shots" at the Percussive Arts Society's International Convention on November 22nd in Louisville, Kentucky. Thanks go out to everyone at PAS for another wonderful convention, and to Yamaha, Regal Tip, and Alternate Mode for all their help and support.
